Mayo de 2024 no solo fue un mes extremadamente caluroso, tambi\u00e9n fue bastante seco<\/strong>. De acuerdo con la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional del Agua <\/strong>(Conagua<\/strong>) al 15 de mayo, el 70.76 por ciento del territorio se encontraba con alg\u00fan grado de sequ\u00eda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La falta de lluvias marc\u00f3 a\u00a0estados del noreste, centro y occidente del pa\u00eds<\/strong>, en donde\u00a0se present\u00f3 sequ\u00eda tanto extrema como excepcional<\/strong>. Ante este panorama, creci\u00f3 la expectativa de lo que podr\u00eda ocurrir durante el\u00a0verano<\/strong>, periodo del a\u00f1o que suele estar asociado con la\u00a0Can\u00edcula<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n conocida como\u00a0veranillo o\u00a0sequ\u00eda\u00a0intraestival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u00e9 es lo que podr\u00eda alterar la Can\u00edcula de 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Contrario a lo que pasa en Europa,<\/strong> en donde se le asocia a las altas temperaturas, la can\u00edcula en M\u00e9xico se\u00f1ala la \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o en la que hay una disminuci\u00f3n de las lluvias<\/strong>, como explica el meteor\u00f3logo de Multimedios<\/em>, Nelson Valdez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunque se le suele declarar de manera oficial entre julio y principios de agosto<\/strong>, no hay como tal una fecha en la que inicie, como destaca el Servicio Meteorol\u00f3gico Nacional (SMN)<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, al depender de diversos factores meteorol\u00f3gicos como ondas o ciclones tropicales<\/strong>, puede ser interrumpida<\/strong>, tal como se prev\u00e9 que ocurra este a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y es que\u00a0este 2024 hay condiciones que podr\u00edan influir en el patr\u00f3n de sequ\u00eda<\/strong>. Uno de ellos es el\u00a0fen\u00f3meno de ‘La Ni\u00f1a’\u00a0<\/strong>en el\u00a0oc\u00e9ano Pac\u00edfico<\/strong>: la probabilidad de que se presente en los pr\u00f3ximos meses ha ido en aumento, lo que a su vez implicar\u00eda un cambio en el futuro del clima, que hasta hace un a\u00f1o estuvo marcado por su contraparte,\u00a0el fen\u00f3meno ‘El Ni\u00f1o’<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En sus \u00faltimas predicciones la\u00a0Administraci\u00f3n Nacional Oce\u00e1nica y Atmosf\u00e9rica (NOAA)\u00a0<\/strong>se\u00f1al\u00f3 que\u00a0hay un 49% de probabilidad de que entre junio y agosto\u00a0<\/strong>se desarrolle la fase de la ‘La Ni\u00f1a’, por su parte, la\u00a0Organizaci\u00f3n Meteorol\u00f3gica Mundial\u00a0(OMM)<\/strong>\u00a0detalla que la probabilidad de que se presente\u00a0entre julio y septiembre aumenta<\/strong>, pues es de por lo menos,\u00a0el 60 por ciento<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018La Ni\u00f1a\u2019 se caracteriza por producir el enfriamiento a gran escala de algunas zonas del oc\u00e9ano Pacifico<\/strong>, lo que a su vez impacta en el viento, presi\u00f3n y precipitaciones, como detalla la OMM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
